BRoom Factory code of conduct
The Broom Factory is committed to providing a friendly, safe, and respectful workplace and experiences, for its employees and contractors, guests, volunteers, and patrons alike. This commitment is accompanied by the responsibility on the part of all to sustain such an environment.
The Broom Factory abides by the “Canadian Creative Industries Code of Conduct”/”Code de conduite des industries créatrices du Canada,” found at www.readthecode.ca.
As a workplace and as a producer of public events, involving a range of participants, including staff, volunteers, guests, and moviegoers, Broom Factory operates as a site of mutual respect and fundamental human rights. While problems and differences may arise, they are to be addressed with consideration and respect for others and their rights.
Harassment, discrimination, violence, intimidation, bullying, or abusive behaviour of any kind is not to be tolerated. This includes mistreatment of volunteers and staff at events.
Anyone participating in Broom Factory events (including digital events) agrees to abide by its Code of Conduct. The Broom Factory reserves the right to refuse admission to and/or expel from an event anyone whose conduct is deemed objectionable. Furthermore, such persons may be barred from future events.
Any incident of improper behaviour, or any allegations of improper behaviour, should be brought to the attention of Broom Factory staff. Any such reports may be offered in confidence. They will be examined and considered in a timely manner by an appropriately constituted group drawing from representative constituencies (staff, volunteers, patrons), with a view to remedial measures.
BRoom Factory Photo & Video Policy
The Broom Factory welcomes professional photographers/videographers to document performances and events. To ensure a positive experience for artists, audiences, and media, the following guidelines apply:
• All photographers and videographers must receive approval from the venue prior to the event.
• For safety, security, and privacy reasons, backstage access is not permitted unless specifically authorized by both the artist and venue management.
• Photographers may not self-authorize access or assume access based on previous events or relationships with performers.
• Access is limited to public audience areas and designated side-stage areas unless otherwise approved.
• Touring photographers and videographers who are travelling with an artist are considered part of the artist's touring crew and may be granted additional access at the discretion of the artist and venue.
CONDUCT
• Photographers and videographers must follow all directions provided by venue management at all times.
• Be mindful of equipment, cables, crowd flow, performers, staff operations, and audience experience.
• Access privileges may be revoked at any time if venue policies are not followed.
LIABILITY
• Photographers operate at their own risk.
• The Broom Factory is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged equipment.
Questions regarding photo or video access can be directed to info@broomfactory.ca in advance of the event.
